VX - a sport for the 21st Century

Welcome to the new Global VX website

NEWS: the 2024 V2 World Championships due to be held in Uganda have had to be postponed until 2025.

This is due to circumstances beyond our control.  Our apologies to the VX Community and we look forward to seeing you in Uganda in 2025.  Watch this space ...

Please bear with us as we rebuild our website.  We have done most of the top level menu items and will publish it  From there we will add in the lower levels as we go along - eg the list of World Cup Winners, the NGBs, the Regional Associations, more resources, details of our planned Africa project.

What is VX?  Well, the BBC called it 'the best sport you've never heard of.'  It was born in the UK and we say the recipe is 'a dash of dodgeball, a pinch of pelota, a hint of hockey and a little lacrosse.'  It's fast, it's furious and it's fun!  Ideal for all age groups and perfect for schools. There is a singles version (V2) which is played in squash courts and the team version (VX) played in sports halls.

It's totally gender-neutral at all levels, is suitable for all ages and is incredibly inclusive -VX truly is a sport for all
Global VX is the international administrative body for the sport and we help set up and develop new National Governing Bodies.  We have overview of the memberships, handle any rule changes, discipline issues and we also have overall responsibility for international matches and tournaments.  So far we have had V2 and VX European Championships, the first test match series (hosted by VX India), we have an annual V2 World Championships and a 4-yearly VX World Cup.

Our roles

PMH with members of VX Uganda

Administration & Development

A major part of our role is finding people who wish to introduce VX to their country, helping them set up an NGB and then helping them develop the NGB.  As part of this we can provide all the policies and procedures necessary.

We also run the Global VX Awards, run an annual rules committee, oversee the membership programme and also oversee the coach and referee education.

Competition

Obviously a major part of any sport is competition.  NGBs will run their own leagues and tournaments under Global VX auspices, however Global VX has the overall responsibility for helping co-ordinate international events which are hosted by various NGBs.  These might be international friendlies, Test Matches or the V2 and VX World Cups.
